Company Name Ideas In A World Of Internet Search Engines

By Kristen Baird

When considering a name for your company, in a world where Internet keywords and phrases largely determine where you are placed on an organic search results page, that moniker must be considered carefully. A non Internet world brought us Coca Cola and Pepsi and everyone knows them, whether they like them or not, but now, a new start up must use every advantage to brand themselves and Company Name Ideas that is search engine friendly is critical.

Your personal one is a good idea, especially if what you offer is a personal product or service. It denotes the customer service will be personal and able to help customers or clients in a way that meets them where they are and helps them succeed with your assistance. Some of the companies who have done this is Eddie Bauer, Deborah Lippmann and Max Factor.

The names you come up with that simply tell what you do and or how you do it is something to think about. When a construction contractor is looking for concrete, they might pass up on Morgan Ltd., however, the ABC Concrete Factory will jump out at them. No one can dispute what The Outback steakhouse has to offer even if they do not eat meat.

Name ideas can be brain stormed by answering a few questions about your business and the products it offers. Location is good way to help people know where you are, such as downtown something or Old town something else. Borrow your states moniker if that is allowed by the corporation licensing board in your region. Golden state roofing has a nice ring to it.

The Internet, and your need to be on it, will bring other considerations. The name you select will need to be searched for appropriateness when anyone makes an entry into their search box. The website you develop will also have to be keyword rich, however, a keyword based company domain will help as this is read by the engines as being authoritative.

A family members identity is a good one to go with, especially if there is a story behind it. That worked very well for Wendys father and his hamburger company. It also helped that he had square burgers which could have been the grist for another type of name. Ray Kroc did not try to tell people, nor would they have believed him if he told them that Ronald McDonald was related to him, however, many people consider this floppy shoe wearing namesake simply part of their family when taking the kids out for a meal.

The key to making something that will brand you, as an authority figure, on the Internet or even your brick and mortar store is finding one that will bring people, because it is something they can trust, into your place of business. Your name must generate, in a lot of peoples minds, a pleasant experience and quality products, backed by superior service.

Making one for yourself often means creating the right one. Sometimes it is a happy coincidence that the name is a major money maker. When some companies register their names, they often change it right as they are signing the paperwork and it works out better than the one they came up with in the conference room before hand. The stuff that goes into this creation can be as varied as you and everyone you start business with.
