Simple Tweaks To Increase Your Rankings Using SEO

By Manny Rutz

As a business owner you probably understand the power behind search engine optimization and how you can use it to attract quality leads and sales for your business. The thing about SEO is that what works for a while doesn't necessarily works now, it's constantly changing and adapting to new trends like social media. In here we'll share a few tips to hopefully guide you in the right direction and show you what's working now.

When it comes to SEO we all know that backlinks are still the most important factor to rank on search engines like Google & Yahoo. However a few years ago you could build any type of backlink and increase your rankings very quickly. These days you have to focus more on the quality of the backlinks, not the quantity.

Right now there are about three types of backlinks that work very well. The first one is blog commenting, leaving relevant comments on other blogs to link back to your site. The second is using social media and social bookmarking sites to boost your search engine rankings even more. The third is using article distribution networks and web 2.0 properties to build quality links to your site.

Now it's fair to say that even before you think about doing off-page seo and start any type of link building campaigns you need to be sure that your onsite optimization is well done. Having well optimized content for your targeted keywords and a complete meta description & keywords will make a huge difference. Be sure to check these and fix any issues before doing any link building.

There's a ton of free resources, forums, videos and information on the web about what's working with SEO now. Keep in mind that what works for others might not necessarily work for you, it's up to you to experiment and see what link building campaigns applies to you. Hopefully these tips have provided you with some guidance and best of luck.
