Putting Your Protection First Throughout A Nature Adventure Journey

By Sue A Waberry

I have actually been a mountaineer for almost all of my life. Even as threat exists every step of the way, I've learned my lesson since one fateful day in Mount Elbert, Colorado.

Pals and also I were hurrying up to be able to reach the top before sunset the instant a brown bear came hurrying before us. It was a great thing Casey got one of her effective bear defense sprays on hand. Or else, we all would not have lived to tell the story.

Animal rights advocates do not need to worry about using bear sprays, which minimize the chance of irreversible harm as well as loss of life among human beings and bears during a bear strike. They are created only as self-defense weapons in warding off bears instead of engaging them in a serious fight.

Self-defense spray effects are non-deadly and momentary, leaving sufficient time for humans to leave the bear, get some aid and let the bear to rejoin its population. Casey loves to tell us that this is not recommended for use on human beings, or regular defense spray on bears.

Despite the fact that I don't commonly head to bear-populated places, I constantly have my Guard Alaska bear repellent in hand now. It is the only EPA-approved bear pepper spray for repelling all bear species, but it is non-combustible and does not consist of ozone-depleting elements at the same time.

During one of my nature hikes, I came across a black bear which seemed to have just gotten out of hibernation. I was terrified of running away since I knew it would catch up with me at some point.

I snapped up my belt bag promptly. Just when it was going to jump on me, I squished my defense spray for bears onto its face as well as chest from some 15 to 20 feet. I then made a run for it, never looking back to where the upset bear was.

Nature adventure journeys won't be complete without effective bear repellents. Whether we like it or not, peril comes whenever it is least expected.
