Lean How To Start A Blog Now

By Frank Gibson

Once you have a blog set up, there are all sorts of things that you can do with it. Obviously, it can depend on what you want to write about. For some people, it is just something that they want to have as a hobby. They may just want to have this to connect with family and friends. Whatever the subject matter is, you have to know how to start a blog.

There are a couple of steps that lie ahead. They may be confusing, but the challenge can also lead to many rewards which will follow. You will get to know about the various platforms and the themes as well as the domains and what is right for you. At first, this may sound like Greek, but after a while, it becomes like reading something off the back of your hand.

However, you also have to be aware that it takes time to learn how to create this. There is a learning curve, but everyone who has been here would have crossed this path and gone onto the next stage. It can be confusing, but there are always online resources. Most of these are free. There are chats and videos, which will help you to get started.

The first things is to decide what type of blog you want to create. This will result in the platform you will have. For example, most people will opt for Wordpress which is easy to set up and just as easy to blog from. You can easily create posts, insert images and videos.

It is important to find a good hosting company so that they provide you with a good service. There are those who have a good reputation. It is important to have a look around and to search the reviews. People who are more experienced will talk about these companies in the forums as well.

You also need to work on the design. People want to come across a blog which is appealing. But they don't want to be put off by too many links and bright colors which can be distracting. It can also be off putting when a person seems as if they are forced to sign up to subscribe or like the website. It should also be easy to navigate.

These days it is easier to set up a blog from scratch. Themes are ready prepared and you can set these up easily because they are user friendly. They are often custom designed by web designers. It will cost you a little more, but it is definitely worthwhile than sitting and struggling with something that you are not used to. These days, you don't have to fiddle around with code, so this is obviously a very good thing.

It is easier to learn as you go. Once you have your blog set up, you will find that there is a lot more to discover about the theme, the domain and what you can do with your website. The best thing is to experiment. It especially applies to people who want to grow their blog. There are different ways of marketing. You can try creating a video or a chat or a forum, for example.
