Reasons Why You Go For Reusable Name Tags

By Ruth Kelly

In this economy, companies need to find all sorts of ways to cut back on operational costs. Employee badges seem like a mundane budget item to focus on but if looked at cumulatively it could make a difference on the bottom line. By using reusable name tags, the company is able to utilize the same item over years and different personnel changes. This saves the time and cost required by that little item.

Imagine being at a coffee shop but somehow fumble through the order. There is an urgent need to have the server understand the order but how to get his or her attention? Badge. An employee badge provides an unusual conduit between staff and client. Also, the clients do not have to work too hard to remember names the next time they come in.

To get the most out of this kind of badge, one has to get the best quality. Compromising on quality will just ensure the badge serves for a short time and requires replacement sooner than it should. These are a bit pricier than the one-time use ones. So if quality will not be observed, why not just get the temporary ones? The badge should be made with sturdy material that will remain intact for a while.

The company could go for a generic badge with nothing on it. It will be a blank slate for the company to do with as it pleases. Whether it is to write with a marker or to print something fancy on the insert. It will be all on the company that buys the badge.

The badge could come with an already inserted company logo and color. The company supplying the badge will only leave space for a name and maybe the position of the person. They might produce printable inserts for more uniformity. The company must be careful about the space provided. They should ensure to relay to the makers exactly how much space is required. One-liner, double, or multiple lines.

Ensure the information is printed in big bold block letters. The names should be presented in spoken order. That is the given name first then the surname. The given name could be presented in a bigger font than the second. This is an unspoken invitation to be on a first name basis with the clients. Leave honorifics like Miss and Mr out of it.

Imagine an event planner who handles conferences and company retreats. This planner is going to need new badges every time. However, if they have this type they can cut the cost of that particular overhead and concentrate on other aspects. There will be a bit of a challenge getting all of them back but it can be arranged.

Imagine being at a party and accidentally asking a fellow guest to serve a drink? It would be embarrassing to both parties. The party planner would benefit from badges they can utilize for different events over time.
