The wells of the deepest believers also run dry. Once you find yourself in such a situation, it is time to look for spiritual awakening. This exercise reignites your passion for deeper spirituality and helps you to fulfill your responsibilities better. Here are practical steps you can take in this journey so as to experience rewarding transformation.

Prepare to drop excess baggage from your life. The baggage comes in the form of habits, items and people. A lot of elements in life cause cluttering to the point that you cannot operate efficiently. An example is habits that you picked during your formation years. Other burdens could be physical and even emotional. By dropping some of these elements, you are light weight and have room for a new perspective.

Review your beliefs and only stick to what is progressive and practical. Some elements of your faith will get cold with time and lead to withering of the spirit. Dissect your beliefs and isolate that which makes sense. Drop anything that does not add value or make sense in your life. Adapt the new ideas that will grow your spirituality.

Explore new spiritual ideas. This is not an invitation to abandon that which you believe today. The exploration comes in the form of reading new books and talking to people who will breathe new life into your spirituality. Expand your circle and you will discover the level of hunger that exists. You realize that you have been living a very enclosed life.

Find appropriate outdoor space for your reflection. There is magic in nature if it is used well to for spiritual reflections. Go for a retreat by the river bed or at a beautiful park. Take a long drive or go to the mountains. Such excursions will help you connect with nature and with your inner self.

Give your body a tender touch. The body houses the spirit and will therefore determine how well that spirit will be. A weak and sickly body will also affect your spirit. It stalls and does not pursue higher goals. When the body is flexible, you are open to ideas that will transform your life. If the body becomes weak and sickly, it lacks the strength to pursue transformation to the end.

Prepare to let go of some of the things you have held dear. It is not easy stopping conversations and company with your dear friends. It is also not easy to stop watching certain programs or engaging in activities you have put at the center of your life for years. It takes a lot of courage and grace to change your life. However, it is impossible to renew your life without letting go.

Enlist the help of a mentor to hold your hand through the process. Choose a seasoned mentor who has gone through a similar process. Mentors work from experience and revelation. It helps to work with a leader who understands the direction you are moving towards. Prepare to drop the old self and pick a new one. This process takes time and will sometimes be very uncomfortable. Be strong and persistent.
