Finding Your Sobriety Through Your Faith In God

By John Barrysome

When you are in rehab, you are sent to a meeting that allows you to connect with drug and alcohol pastors, counselors and teachers. You are being given a new opportunity for growth and hope. When you focus in on your spirituality with God, you begin to see that you are not in this fight alone. You begin to focus on what matters most to you. You are someone that tends to become a unique power in your own self. It is important to look at life and feel like you have grown. Anyone can grow closer to their own goals by going after something more specific.

If you spend any time with God, you will come to see that our ways are not his ways. God teaches us how to love and give more of ourselves as each day passes. It is important to realize that we must come to God I prayer and reading spiritual material in order to understand this concept. Yes, you can easily learn how to listen to God and his word. Yes, it is a great time for you to understand sobriety in new ways.

Being sober simply means that you are taking on new steps for overcoming your boundaries. You can easily see that in life, there are new ways for people to find sobriety. It is a good challenge for people to realize.

Many addicts join groups like Alcoholics Anonymous and church groups to say sober. Making sober friends also make us more aware of who we are. It makes us become aware of what is happening with us and what the future has in store. It is a time where most people ask, "What is my role in this life?"

Church always helps us to be in fellowship with believers that love God and want to do what is right for their lives. If we step away from church, we often feel like life is not worth living. It is weird to see life as a battle at times. I say this because we are constantly in spiritual warfare. As each day passes, we are reminded of the fact that we are what we believe about ourselves. Only we can change that.
