By Takamitsu Hairi

Japan is one of the world's most advanced nations. The nation is known for its technical expertise and fine hand at artistry. Japan is also renowned for its prosperous cultural ancestry remnants which still exist today. Actually there are some elements of the Japanese culture that have been exported outside its boundaries to become a global trend.

One of the things that have brought the country of Japan recognition on a global scale is the art of tattooing that the Japanese people wallow in. Tattooing has existed in Japan for many centuries. Really some of the designs that can be seen today can be traced back to the 5th century BC. It should be noted that tattooing was something looked down upon in Japan because it was supposed to be an art form associated with criminals.

Today, things have taken a turn for the best and now the art of tattooing is accepted as an art of the new generation. In western countries, it has been embraced by the fashion victims.

In Japan the field continues to have a bad connotation even today. But for the sake of money they have developed their tattooing industry which now deals with a worldwide clientele.

Japanese tattoos are too much appealing because of their freakish charm and aesthetic look. Love symbols are the most loved among them by the people. Younger generation in the west will never be satisfied until they convey their love using the Japanese love symbols.

Kanji script, which was imported from the Chinese characters long ago, is used to design the love symbols. Because of the intriguing artistic appearance of these scripts, some may think that they were originally constructed for the use of tattoo designing.

The uniqueness of the love symbol in the kanji script is that it attracts a wide range of people. Both men and women fall in love with the love symbol from Japan. The romance that is attached with the symbol seems far too intriguing to resist for the wild youth of today who love to stamp themselves with tattoos for life.

There is no doubt about the physical beauty of the love symbol. But the fact that makes it even more loved by the public is that this aesthetically pleasing design has a deep inner meaning. In fact these symbols represent much more than words, they represent ideas. Thus a love symbol is actually representing the concept of universal love.

Creation of Kanji symbols needs sufficient expertise in that art. The positioning and direction of the strokes should be done very precisely in order to make the real sense. Same as the love symbol, symbols for freedom, peace, unity and strength also have accomplished wide applause.
