Few Deadly SEO Mistakes You Need to Stay Away from

By Roberto Beasley

Anyone who uses the internet knows who Google is and has probably used it before. Many people throw up a website for different reasons and believe that is the end of it. The Internet is growing at warp speeds and organizing it is a big deal. Google, Yahoo, and Bing are the three largest search engines who are now responsible for hosting almost all internet searches and also making sure that we can find what we are searching for. SEO or search engine optimization will increase the chances of your site appearing when someone searches for a word relating to your site. Sadly, the vast majority of people screw SEO up, along with their site's ranking. There are some common mistakes that many people make so we decided discuss three of them here.

Don't expect results to happen overnight because they won't. Patience is probably the ingredient for SEO success. Many people don't look at the long-term but you are different. You can get your site on the first page and this article is going to point you in the right direction. You must be committed to the basics, which many people choose to ignore; link building, adding unique content to your site on a regular basis, and doing onsite SEO.

If you don't perform your keyword research correctly then your entire campaign will be worthless. The best SEO starts with good keyword research. The traffic you get isn't much targeted, which means it doesn't convert and give results. You should never waste your time targeting any keywords that searchers aren't looking for. Keywords are how people search and how the search engine determines which sites to show in the results, so they should be one of your main priorities. All you need to do is find keywords that are being searched for and give preference to ones with less competition. And the best part is that there are free keyword tools that will show you keywords that you can use.

Many people either forget or don't know that there content must be formatted in such a way for the search engines to find it relevant. Webmasters put in the effort to create a masterpiece out of their site but in this process they forget to add relevant content to their site. Having bad content on your site is a sure shot recipe towards failure when it comes to SEO. Try not to add any individual posts to your site that are less than 300-400 words and your keywords should number between 3-5 inside every 100 words of content. Also, include your keyword once in the post's title. The search engines frown upon too many keywords appearing in your content and will decrease your ranking.

Overall, successful SEO methods can be boiled down to several small elements and tactics designed to work well together to provide you with results. While so-called 'blackhat' tactics might promise you instant results for improving your search engine rankings, they're not considered long-term methods that you can count on. So you should always concentrate on whitehat SEO that not only offers a long term solution but also brings in traffic that you can count on, without getting your site banned.
