Your Inner Morgan Freeman

By Evan Sanders

Imagine for a second that you are in a loud bar having a really bad day. Are you there in your mind? Good, let's keep going.

On your left there's an absolutely drunk-to-their-last-cell baseball fan screaming and yelling at the TV while spilling his drink everywhere. He's obnoxious, loud, angry, and completely out of control. To make matters worse, he's taken a liking to you and continues to yell in your ear everything about what's wrong with the game, how much the umpires suck, how much the players suck and everything else that is wrong in the world.

Oh good lord now he's telling you about his personal life. Get this guy away from me! Unfortunately, you can't get rid of him.

So instead of doing anything you just sit there and take it. The guy is all over you telling you his sob story and how bad his life is. You don't get to survive any sparing of detail. He is telling you everything.

Unfortunately, you are permanently stuck with someone who loves to rant about their life and how bad everything is. They complain. They yell. They scream. It's an endless amount of madness.

Too bad. For the foreseeable future, you're stuck with him. Oh common, stop sulking...you're letting him get to you.

What's interesting about the entire engagement is that while you were stuck listening to this drunk fan, you didn't realize that Morgan Freeman was in your other ear trying to get your attention. Morgan Freeman?! Yes, the soft speaking and deeply passionate man who was trying to whisper words of wisdom to you.

How did you miss that? Because that drunk raging fan...that's your internal critic.

It's a jerk. In fact, most of our internal critics (that negative voice in our mind) are incredibly vicious and know exactly what to say to destroy us. Then, there's the voice of your inner wisdom.

That internal wisdom tells you which path to take, how to act, how to get in and out of situations and what to say to deeply touch other peoples hearts. But it's voice is much lower and softer than the drunk fan's and it takes some attention to really hear.

That inner Morgan Freeman is the true guide of your life.

But if you constantly focus on that drunk fan, you're never going to be able to hear Morgan speak to you. You'll only hear the negativity, doubt, jealousy, hate...

There will be no voice of love, passion, drive and enthusiasm. So instead of listening to all of the negativity today, take some time to tune into a much more powerful frequency.

What is he saying? How is he guiding you?

Listen to that voice inside.
