For Best Past Life Regression Bellingham WA Is The Way To Go

By Virginia Jackson

Past life regression refers to a technique that employs hypnosis in recovering what is believed by practitioners as memories of past incarnations or lives. However, the process has been referred to as delusions or a form confabulation by some people. This exercise is pursued in two major settings, that is, psychotherapeutic and in pursuit of a spiritual experience. The adherence to the notion of repressed memories is very loose among fanatics of this exercise. When in need of efficient experience in past life regression Bellingham WA is the place to visit.

The techniques employed in past life regression (PLR) involves suggestions and answering of hypnotic questions. The answers the individuals give are used in identifying previous events one took part in. The application of hypnosis in this process makes the responses and information gathered to be considered to be false memories or highly distorted. Critics dispute any claims of accuracy in the information gathered through hypnosis.

The memories come from cryptomnesia and confabulations, which combines imagination, suggestion, knowledge, experience or guidance given by the hypnotist. Sources of memories are thus less likely to be a recall of previous events one engaged in. An investigation into the memories recovered from this exercise has revealed that they have historical inaccuracies. The inaccuracies can be explained easily through a basic understanding of elements of popular culture, history, or events in media.

PLR has a very long history. The common belief is that it originated from Asian countries, specifically India. Indians engaged in it for religious reasons. The first texts written about the exercise date back to the second century BC. The texts describe PLR in form of souls being overcrowded with previous impressions resulting as part of karma. The karma comes from past lives.

PLR in ancient India was a channel through which to address memories from previous lives. Even today, there are versions of yoga that practice PLR. Religious mythology from China holds that souls were prevented from recalling by Meng Po, a deity. Souls had their memories deleted by drinking bittersweet drink before ascension into reincarnation.

The West was introduced to the idea of PLR by someone called Madame Blavatsky. Since then, several texts have been written about the process. Since its introduction in the West, several mediums, psychiatrists, and psychologists have been involved with researching it since the 1950s. The credibility in the field was increased by some advocates possess legitimate credentials. However, those credentials have been found not to be related with psychotherapy, religion or anything related with PLR.

There is still a lot of research going on in this area. So far, no concrete evidence has been found to support the ideas that practitioners propose. Even with that, statistics indicate that several Americans see hypnotists with the intention of recovering previous memories.

A lot of false practitioners have been attracted into the field due to lack of standards. As such, caution must be exercised when consulting with a practitioner. One should rely on referrals from friends and other parties to find the best practitioner.
