You Have To Want It More Than You're Afraid Of It

By Evan Sanders

You have to truly want it more than you are terrified of it not happening.

Each day, we have opportunities to grow, change, and rise to the challenge in life. What may seem like another day is actually a chance to do something fantastic. True, almost all of the days we have may begin as standard, but our plans that we have for ourselves, if implemented, can truly turn something average into something, well, amazing. It takes effort. Lots and lots of effort. Everything in the world will certainly be pushing you to just stay the same. Because that's where the great majority of us are. We are living in the middle. Not in the sense of classes etc, but in the sense of what we happen to be doing with ourselves. When we start moving towards the edge, that is truly when things become exciting. Nevertheless at the same time, that's when the doubt of the future becomes greater and larger. You have got to determine for yourself if you will be OK living in a place of heavy uncertainty and yet be committed to total belief in what you're doing. Trust me, it's tough.

Call it the universe, call it God, call it whatever it is you want to call it, but the fact is the same. You are here for a sound reason and you have talents that need to be drilled into skills. What ends up going down though is that we worry too much about what others think and we begin to worry that what we love isn't going to actually happen due to one reason or another.

Most of the time, brilliant ideas die with the people who they live in. Lots of people take their dreams to the grave and never see them through because they're just too scared. Fear is the main killer of dreams. This could be dread of failing, fear of views, fear of ridicule...nonetheless, fear drives one to shrink in the break they have.

It would be stupid for me to say to not be scared. Anyone that tells you that they don't get scared should probably consult a medical practitioner. It is what you do after being fearful that counts. That's where true courage comes in. Bravery is that mad 20 seconds after being deathly scared where the true magic appears. It's fine to be afraid, but like I have claimed before, you have got to desire it more than you are alarmed of it. You have got to decide that it's what you want and then be white-hot and passionate about it. Without that decision, you'll truly flounder forwards and backwards for forever. Decide.

Be driven by everything and everybody letting you know...no. Make that your fuel. Don't let it bring you down. Let it incentivize you to keep going. The people that make the most important difference in this world are those who don't let the world outside effect their souls belief in their dreams. Shield your dreams with dragons, guards, and trolls. Do whatever you can to keep them safe and harbor that belief. You'd be shocked by how easy it is to let a voice or an opinion dig its way into your heart and then slowly burn everything in the house. Only let people and words that continue your transmissible belief in your purpose enter into your heart.
